Russell started his political career interning in Governor Nathan Deal’s Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs while he attended Clemson University. The next summer, he interned for the Centers of Innovation in the Georgia Department of Economic Development. He was then offered a staff position supporting the Centers of Innovation for Energy and Information Technology. Russell returned to Governor Deal’s Office of Policy and Legislative affairs to support Governor Deal’s legislative liaisons during the Governor’s final legislative session. He then interned for the offices of Congressman Barry Loudermilk and Senator David Perdue in Washington, D.C., working on a wide array of political issues. Russell also interned for Senator Perdue’s reelection campaign prior to officially joining Capitol Partners in 2019. Russell also serves as Head of Revenue and Sales for a voter information and technology startup, Branch Politics, while continuing his education taking courses at Georgia State University.
